After graduating from the Taft School, Van earned a Bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Rhode Island in Mechanical Engineering.
He has worked in several industries in research, development, design and information technology, always finding and developing new ways to use computer technology. Van teaches the computer science courses, including Introduction to Programming with Java, Game Programming, AP Computer Science and Computer Applications. He also manages the Trinity-Pawling academic computing resources, and is a resource to students with computer problems.
Van lives with his wife Shirley and three children Schuyler, Eric and Monica in Norfolk, CT. He enjoys traveling, and sailing with his family.
