After graduating from Trinity College with a major in political science and economics, Dave taught at the Rectory School before coming to Trinity-Pawling in 1981. At Trinity College, Dave was honored as Most Valuable Wrestler for two years and as the Most Valuable Offensive Player on the football team his senior year. Dave was the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach for 20 years where he won well over 200 matches and led his teams to several Western New England championships. Dave was the Head Coach of Varsity Football from 1987 through 2012.The 2005 Varsity Football team went 9-0 and won the New England Class A Championship. The 2007 Football team won the New England Class A Championship as well. Although he has stepped down from being the head, he will continue to assist. The School’s turf field is named in his honor.
Appointed Dean of Students in 1992, Dave became Director of Studies in 1999 and now brings great energy and experience to the position of Associate Headmaster which he assumed in 2001.
Dave earned a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Connecticut and has developed both an interest and an expertise in curriculum development.
At the Wolfeboro Camp School, where he taught for fifteen summers, Dave created their Study Skills program, and at Trinity-Pawling he developed the present ninth and tenth grade World History program. He is also an Advanced Placement European History Exam faculty consultant for College Board of Princeton.
Dave lives in Alan Proctor House with his wife Debbie, who is the Middle School Director. They have three children — Jennifer, David, and Christopher (T-P Class of ’08).
