Candlelight: A Celebration of the Season

A beloved Trinity-Pawling tradition continued this year with the annual Candlelight Festival of Lessons and Carols.  This Episcopal Christmas Festival has been part of our community since 1938, modeled after the traditional service at King's College, Cambridge, England.

The service, held in All Saints' Chapel, blends readings, music and familiar carols to tell the Christmas story, and includes the lighting of candles by each member of the community.  The carols and hymns are sung by The Trinity-Pawling Choir in addition to our a cappella group The Trinitones.  Music was performed by a brass quartet of professional musicians and was conducted by Music Director Matt Travis.

This celebration, lead by our chaplain Father John Gedrick, is a highlight to many and provides a meaningful and substantive beginning to the holiday season.
