Mission

TPS3 is a four week seminar that focuses on enhancing organizational and study skills; the program is open to all new underclassmen. Eleven evening sessions are designed to help our boys become more efficient learners and encourage them to improve their organization.

Staff

The seminar is staffed with dedicated members of the T-P faculty representing all areas of the academic community. Hands-on instruction helps the boys make an effective transition to life at T-P.

Curriculum

At the core of the TPS3 curriculum are the development of study skills and the enhancement of academic skills. Topics in this year's curriculum include:

Plan Book organization, Scheduling, and Effort System
Honor Code and Ethics
E-mail and school network computing
Binder organization
A Library introduction
Note taking and Outlining
Test Taking strategies
Inspiration (computer note program)
Science and Math Study Skills
Writing laboratory
Essay construction

Results

We are proud of the commitment we make to our boys. Since its inception, the seminar has significantly reduced the number of new students on Academic Probation, while at the same time enabling the boys to quickly get acclimated and focused. TPS3 builds the foundation for achieving goals, and ultimately gives our boys a head start on success.
