Pierce grew up on Long Island and then attended the US Coast Guard Academy for one year before heading up to the University of Albany where he studied math and political science. At Albany, Pierce played varsity football for four years, serving as captain in 2006. He remained at Albany for another year to earn his Master’s degree. He then taught math for a year in Florida before being called back to New England to work as an assistant football coach at the University of New Haven. Pierce lives in Johnson Hall with his wife Danielle.
