Middle School
The Trinity-Pawling Middle School program is designed to meet the needs of just 30 day students in grades seven and eight. The size allows our teachers to focus on an individual and bring out his best. Trinity-Pawling strongly believes in the advisor/advisee system, where a Middle School faculty member oversees all aspects of school life for a small group of 7 boys. The advisor is a contact person for both parent and student. Twice-weekly meetings, in addition to daily classroom interaction, allow a strong relationship to develop over the course of the year.
In addition to Algebra and English, boys in our program get hands-on instruction in the fine and performing arts, science labs, language labs, technology labs and music. They write, produce and play their own Middle School Musical. They design and execute elaborate projects each year for our Middle School Science Fair. Hard work and dedication provides a pathway to the Honors Program and eventually Advanced Placement classes in the Upper School. In past years, Middle School graduates have gone on to matriculate at such colleges as MIT, Haverford, Colby, Connecticut College, Hamilton, and Kenyon.
Trinity-Pawling's athletic facilities and programs are a part of daily life in the Middle School. In the fall, there is a competitive soccer schedule against area independent schools. In the winter, there are two choices: skate for our Middle School hockey team or shoot hoops with the basketball squad. In the spring, we take to the field to play lacrosse.
