Giving to T-P

A tour of Trinity-Pawling School will provide tangible evidence of the impact made by the gifts of our alumni, parents, friends and foundations.  Its majestic buildings, abundant ball fields, and tree-lined walks speak of the kindheartedness of generations.  The observer will notice boys conducting experiments in modern science laboratories, creating art in well-lighted studios, sprinting on an all-weather running track, and taking their meals in a stately new dining center.  Less apparent is the impressive growth of the School's endowment and the tuition assistance provided to more than a third of our students.

79% of the cost of a Trinity-Pawling School education is supplied by tuition payments.  The remaining 21% derives from endowment and investment income, gifts to the Annual Fund, and other miscellaneous sources of revenue.  Viewed another way, each boy benefits from an additional $10,434 that is not covered by tuition.  Through the generosity of our donors, our students are provided with a total experience of incredible breadth and depth.  Once our boys complete their education here in Pawling, this experience translates to success at some of the finest institutions of higher learning in our nation.

Matching Gifts
Many corporations offer matching gift programs to their employees and families.  You may be able to double the impact of your gift if your employer participates in a matching gift program.  If you are an alumnus, your Annual Fund matching gift support is credited to you and your class.  If you are a parent or grandparent, your matching gift will be credited to you and to the Parents' Fund.  Please obtain a request form from your employer's human resources department and send it to the T-P Development Office along with your gift.  We will then certify receipt of your original gift and return the form to your company requesting the matching gift.

Gifts-in-Kind
Items and collections of value may be contributed directly to Trinity-Pawling.  The contribution of these items may provide the donor with a tax deduction when the value of the gift has been clearly determined.  Items with an estimated value of $5,000 or more require an appraisal by a qualified appraiser, the cost of the appraisal to be borne by the donor.  Items of lesser value do not require an appraisal, but written authentication of the value is necessary.  T-P and the donor may jointly agree that the donated item or items will remain with the School, but in most instances, the gift will be sold by the School.  Trinity-Pawling welcomes gifts-in-kind, but reserves the right to refuse such gifts.

Pledges
Donors who wish to contribute to Trinity-Pawling School, but who do not wish to make an immediate payment, or who may wish not to pay the gift all at one time, may make a pledge of support.  A pledge is a written promise to make a specified gift payment or payments within a defined period of time.  If you would like to make a pledge to the Annual Fund or for another purpose, mail notification of your pledge directly to the Development Office or email your intentions to Janet Hubbard a jhubbard@trinitypawling.org.  Your pledge will be recorded upon receipt.  Your will receive an acknowledgement of your pledge, and pledge reminders will be mailed to you periodically.  Written pledges, signed by the donor, are considered assets of the School.  This commitment should not be treated casually.

Memorial and Honor Gifts
Deceased alumni, faculty members, colleagues, and friends may be memorialized with gifts to Trinity-Pawling School.  Gifts may also be made to honor living individuals, groups, or organizations.  These gifts will be acknowledged in the Annual Report and notification of the individuals and relatives will be made by the Development Office.
