Meredith Durkee   Email |  profile

Meredith grew up in Vermont where she played ice hockey, lacrosse, and softball. She played three years of varsity ice hockey and was named to the state Academic All-Star team as a senior. She went on to St. Lawrence University where she majored in English Literature and graduated in 2011. Meredith spent part of her junior year studying abroad in Tuscany where she studied Renaissance art, Italian literature, and photography. At St. Lawrence, Meredith was involved in student government, helped edit the school newspaper, acted as the student representative for the library enrichment board and was president of the entertainment society. In May 2014, Meredith graduated with her Master of Arts in Teaching, with a concentration in Secondary English Education, from North Carolina State University.

Meredith lives in Arches 2 with her adorable chocolate lab, Lily.

Nathaniel Jaffe   Email |  profile

Nathaniel is from Sharon, CT, and attended the nearby Hotchkiss School. At Princeton University, he studied molecular biology and completed a computational senior thesis on the Last Universal Common Ancestor under Dr. Laura Landweber. He also competed on the Princeton Lightweight Men’s Crew Team for four years. After Princeton, he spent four years in graduate biology at Columbia University. Nathaniel worked under Dr. Ruben Gonzalez on single molecule studies of the bacterial ribosome, earning an MA and MPhil in biology. In the summer of 2017, Nathaniel taught high school genetics for the Oxbridge program’s New York City branch.

Nate will be teaching introductory chemistry and the research course at Trinity Pawling, and living in Cluett III CE. His interests include cycling, hiking, fiction, modern history, cooking, and video games.
