Event Recap:
The Pride football team had their home opener against the Taft Rhinos this weekend in front of a big crowd for their alumni weekend.  Energy was high around campus after the recent dedication of the Smith Fieldhouse and T-P seized the moment.  Dante Williams ‘20 was a man on a mission in the first quarter, breaking free for a 49 yard score on the first drive and later intercepting a Taft pass for 50 yard score.  Quarterback Ray Davis ‘19 would add a rushing touchdown of his own to bring the score to 20-0 at the end of the first quarter.  Davis would and running back Chiz Umanakwe ‘18 took it from there as they rushed for 170 and 141 yards respectively on the day.  Defensively, Cam Tillman ‘18 led the defense with 8 tackles and Aaron Armitage ‘21 had a huge game from the defensive line position with 2 sacks. The game ended at 47-37 in favor of the Pride who will look to keep their winning streak alive next weekend when they travel to Williston.
