Cross Country - Varsity
The overall goal of the Trinity-Pawling Cross Country program is to provide a supportive environment where young men can grow as student-athletes. Runners of all ability levels are encouraged to participate and to make a commitment to academic and athletic growth. Student-athletes are challenged to formulate both individual and team goals and provided with an appropriate training program where each student-athlete can work to achieve these goals. The coaching staff works with each runner to monitor their progress, and to provide appropriate feedback as to how to continually improve. Ultimately, success is defined by individual growth and a growing appreciation for the sport. The team participates in regular season meets against Founders League Schools and in both the Founders League and NEPSTA Division I championship meets at the end of the season.
Head Coach Jim McDougal ran competitively in both High School and at Case Western Reserve University where he earned 6 Varsity letters in Cross Country and Track and Field. Coach McDougal holds a USATF Level 2 Certification in Distance running. Assistant Coaches Knox Sutterfield and Michele Carlin bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and passion to the program.
