Athletics

The school competes in the Founders' League, a highly competitive arena which college recruiters consider a prime source for spotting some of the nation's best prep-school talent. T-P's league competitors, all of which are in New England, include Avon, Kent, Hotchkiss, Loomis, Choate, Taft, Kingswood-Oxford and Westminster. Although smaller in number than most of its rivals, T-P continues to hold its own in the win-loss column year after year. The school boasts a number of Founders' and Tri-State League championships in varsity basketball, wrestling frequently places first in the Western New England Championships, and the cross country team has recorded more than a dozen consecutive winning seasons. An athletics banquet at the conclusion of each season is held to honor the many accomplishments of individual athletes and successful teams.

Outstanding Facilities
The school presently utilizes two football fields, four soccer fields, two baseball diamonds, a new all- weather track, three lacrosse fields, an entirely renovated, enclosed hockey arena and 12 tennis courts. We have also recently added a new stadium style football field, a new baseball diamond, and two new soccer fields. The Carleton Gymnasium houses basketball courts, five international squash courts, a newly renovated weight training and cardiovascular fitness center, a wrestling pavilion and the Athletic Hall of Fame. Students and faculty utilize all of the facilities frequently during free time.

Athletic Development
At Trinity-Pawling, every boy is a three-season athlete. Whether he is learning the basics of a sport like squash or golf or has been excelling on the gridiron or ice for years, he is part of the School's century-old athletic tradition. Proud to represent "The Pride", he strives to live up to the School's high standards on a daily basis, whether engaged in practice or in the heat of battle in a match. T-P offers 13 interscholastic sports with 30 teams, plus recreational activities. Depending on skill and experience, each boy competes on the varsity, junior varsity, thirds or fourths level. A substantial number of graduates move on to play for, and captain, Division I, II and III intercollegiate or club teams in their respective sports.

A Word from the Athletic Director
"Trinity-Pawling has always valued the important role athletics play in the development of each student. While some schools have eliminated or watered down their athletic requirements over the years, T-P has held its ground in the belief that participation in sport teaches lessons that can be applied in life. Discipline, sacrifice, teamwork, friendships and memories of rivalries, league championship games and buzzer beaters will stay with our boys forever." Brian R. Foster '79
