Bowl Games for Two T-P Grads
Posted 12/29/2009 11:41AM

Derrick Dennis '07, a junior at Temple (9-3, 7-1 MAC), will start at offensive tackle for the Owls as they face UCLA (6-6, 3-5 PAC-10) in the EagleBank Bowl at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. Kickoff is at 4:30 PM eastern time on December 29th and the game will be telecast on ESPN. This is Temple's first bowl appearance in 30 years. Dennis is #63.

Head Prefect of the Class of 2009, Shayne Skov has been busy helping the Stanford Cardinal football team flirt with a Pac-10 title.

Initially a special teams starter, Shayne got the nod at linebacker in the seventh game of the season and has performed even better than Coach Jim Harbaugh could have imagined. Shayne finished the regular season sixth on the team in tackles with 47, 27 solo and 20 assisted. This number would surely be higher had Shayne started the first six games.

Shayne was also featured early in the Oregon game telecast as an “impact player” who would “have a significant influence on the program in future years.”

The Stanford Cardinal earned a berth in the Sun Bowl, facing Big 12 power Oklahoma. The game will be played in El Paso, Texas on Thursday December 31st at 2 PM and telecast on CBS. All T-P eyes will be on number 11 -- this time in red.
