Trinity-Pawling Art History students recently took a trip to see Impressionist paintings at the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, and modern art at Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in North Adams, MA.
They saw well known paintings by Monet and Renoir, and then were confronted with the cutting edge work of Anslem Kiefer, Inigo Manglano-Ovealles, and Chandra Bocci.

A large sculpture in
concrete by Kiefer suggested the destruction in war.
"Gravity is a Force to be Reckoned With" by Manglano-Ovelles is a scaled down model of a modern Mies van der Rohe house -- only it is UPSIDE DOWN!

A sculpture by Chandra Bocci called "Big Bang" is an artistic explosion made entirely from candy gummy bears!
