Ms. Kate Vengrove
Kate has spent her career as a champion for nonprofit causes. She’s served as a fundraiser, spokeswoman and nonprofit generalist for organizations in the educational, artistic and social justice fields. Most recently, Kate worked as the first development professional for Jane Doe No More, a nonprofit in Naugatuck, CT dedicated to changing the way society responds to victims of sexual violence. There she developed a comprehensive fund development plan and worked with board, staff and volunteers to begin the process of organizing their development systems.
After receiving a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre from University of Miami (FL), Kate began her career at Barrington Stage Company as an intern and then full-time staff member, working in all areas of arts administration. She quickly discovered her passion for the fundraising arm of nonprofits and was hired by Lehigh University as Assistant Development Director for Zoellner Arts Center. Kate ran Zoellner’s annual membership program and helped to coordinate special events such as donor receptions and galas. When she married and moved north, Kate found a professional home at The Forman School. There, she ran Forman’s annual fund, led a parents committee of volunteers and helped to coordinate special events such as Grandparents Day, Parent Weekend and Alumni Reunion.
In her free time, Kate enjoys running, singing and spending time with her husband, 3 children and dog Tucker. She sings with Connecticut Master Chorale (Danbury, CT) and the Kent Singers (Kent, CT).
