Dear Parents and Students,

We look forward to welcoming students back to campus in August and have been working to design an on-campus Trinity-Pawling experience that will be both safe and enriching.

As you know, August 22 is our arrival day for students requiring campus quarantine. New York State recently instituted a 14-day quarantine for anyone coming from abroad or from states with high numbers of COVID-19 cases. Currently, restrictions are in place for 34 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.. We strongly encourage students to make their own self-quarantine arrangements either in New York State or another unrestricted state with low numbers of COVID-19 cases for the two weeks immediately before their scheduled arrival on campus. While quarantining on campus is an option, it would not be the ideal situation for students due to lack of climate control, unavailability of their own rooms, restrictions on where students could go, and limited interactions with community members. Additionally, students would be allowed to divide their quarantine period into two week-long segments, with the second segment occurring on campus.

We request that all students who expect to travel to campus from abroad or a restricted state promptly complete the Self-Quarantine Arrangements form, confirming whether they can and will be making their own self-quarantine arrangements to satisfy the State of New York requirements.

Please review this Reopening Plan thoroughly, as it will provide you with additional details about our plans and answer many questions you may have. All plans are based on the impact that safety measures associated with COVID-19 will have on specific areas of school life and have been made in accordance with the recommendations and information from local health professionals, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the State of New York.

The COVID-19-related challenges are continuously evolving; therefore, information and plans, while well-researched and carefully designed, are subject to change. We will continue to keep you informed about any changes in the reopening plans, if necessary.

Continued work will be done over the coming weeks, and the most up-to-date information will be provided via email and at trinitypawling.org/reopen. If you have a specific concern that is not yet addressed, please submit your question via the COVID-19 / Reopening School Inquiries Form in the Parent Portal and an administrator of Trinity-Pawling will reach out with an answer as soon as possible.
