May 7, 2021
Hello Families of Boarding Students,
It is hard to believe that we have reached May and that the end of the year is close at hand. I applaud everyone in our community for their efforts to keep the Trinity-Pawling community safe and your support of our protocols. It has truly been an ongoing, communal effort by all.
As the end of the year approaches, it is time to plan for our boarding students' departures and to advise of our protocols. Parents will not be able to enter our dormitories. When you are moving out your son, please park close to his dorm and he will bring out his belongings to your car. After removing all of his belongings, each student should leave his keys and laundry bag in his room.
Room inspections for damage will be conducted after all students depart. If any charges are incurred, which could include an excessive cleaning fee if the room is left in very poor condition, our Facilities Department will contact you. We will be devoting time to cleaning rooms and packing belongings before departure days. Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations of items that are no longer wanted – these items should be disposed of in the dumpster behind the facilities building.
If you live far away or if you would like to have items stored, please sign up with Dorm Room Movers. This is a company that will provide storage boxes, pick up your son's belongings, store them over the summer, and either return them next year to his room or ship them to a location of your choosing.
The schedule for departures is as follows:
Middle School students will depart after the Middle School Stepping Up Ceremony on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Underclassmen will depart on Friday, May 28, 2021, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM, or Saturday, May 29, between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. In order to reduce the number of people on campus and the number of students departing each building at one time, please choose a time slot to pick up your son through this link. If you need more information on how to use Pick-A-Time, please use this link. If these time frames will not work for you, please contact me to discuss solutions.
Seniors will depart after their Graduation on Sunday, May 30.
Remote boarders who still have belongings in their rooms should plan to come to campus between Tuesday, June 1 and Saturday, June 5 to pick up their belongings. If there are belongings that are still in storage from last year, please sign up with Dorm Room Movers to have your belongings stored over the summer and either shipped to the college your son will attend or returned to his room next year. Trinity-Pawling cannot ship items.
Again, I want to commend our community for their work this far and for a great year. Much of the credit goes to the commitment of your sons to our protocols and the appreciation of our communal health.
Please let me know if you have any questions and take good care.
