Dear Alumni Community,
At Convocation last September, I spoke with students and faculty about the critical importance of protecting the common good during this pandemic. Indeed, while much work had been done behind the scenes to make it possible for school to safely resume on campus, we knew that we would only get through the year successfully if all members of the community were committed to upholding the safety protocols to protect themselves and others. How fortunate we were to complete the year successfully, and cap it off with a beautiful in-person Commencement for the Class of 2021. This was a remarkable milestone and achievement for Trinity-Pawling, one in which all community members can take great Pride.
Certainly, along the way there have been many necessary sacrifices — most significantly, the inability to meet in person with you, our loyal alumni community. I greatly missed our traditional events, visits, and receptions around the country. While I am excited for the return of these essential Trinity-Pawling traditions, I remain vigilant of the ongoing importance of protecting our students, faculty, faculty families, and staff in the midst of the continued pandemic during the upcoming academic year. While the School has required students and employees to be vaccinated, we remain concerned about the rising infection rate caused by the delta variant of the virus.
Employing the necessary precautions to protect the students and the viability of the academic year, we have decided to reschedule our 2021 Homecoming and Reunion celebration to June 10-11, 2022. By holding the event next June, we can accomplish two very important objectives: prioritize the safety and well-being of our entire community (alumni and their families included!) and focus our full attention on celebrating YOU on campus next summer.
We look forward to welcoming you back in June 2022, when we will:
