Trinity-Pawling School

August 24, 2021

Dear Day Student Parents,

I hope you and your family have enjoyed a well-deserved summer vacation. Without wishing the last few weeks of summer away, I'd like to share a few details concerning the Opening of School 2021 – as at times, Day Students follow a somewhat different schedule than Boarding Students. With that said, I want to provide a thorough Day Student Schedule that coincides with the Opening of School Schedule, to ensure that every student participates and is prepared accordingly.

In addition, I'd like to provide a need-to-know list of protocols for the respective school openings, as we continue to work on keeping the Trinity-Pawling community safe and healthy. Listed below are several health and safety protocols that we ask of each family.

  • All students will need a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival on campus.

  • Students will check in when they arrive on campus in the Smith Field House. At this time, they will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms, take a PCR COVID-19 test, verify the receipt of COVID-19 test results, make sure that all Health Center and Business Office forms are completed, and pick up their keys and school IDs if needed. Uploading completed forms to the Magnus Health Portal and completing all Business Office forms will greatly streamline this process. The PCR COVID-19 test taken on campus will be a saliva test. This means that the student must not eat, drink, or brush their teeth within 30 minutes of arriving on campus.

  • While in campus buildings, all family members will need to wear masks, out of an abundance of caution.

  • Between the time of taking this pre-arrival PCR COVID-19 test and your son's arrival on campus, we ask that each student observe quarantine standards at home until they travel to campus.

  • A student who does not have a negative PCR COVID-19 test or who has not completed all of the pre-arrival health forms will not be able to remain on campus. We recommend that you bring a hard copy of the negative COVID-19 test result when you come to campus. Recently, some testing facilities have sent results as a text message, but any result will need to have the student's name, the type of test administered (which must be a PCR test), and the date of test to be accepted.

  • Any student who is symptomatic or whose family member is symptomatic for COVID-19 should contact the School and reschedule their check-in day. Symptoms include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headache, loss of the sense of taste or smell, sore throat, or gastrointestinal issues.

Below I have also included a detailed Day Student Opening of School Schedule, in which we ask all Day Students to participate. I have included times and locations for your convenience.

Please note: Middle School students may arrive at 9:00 AM on Saturday September 11th.
