The Leadership Circle

Leadership support at Trinity-Pawling is critical to the School’s sustenance. Your investment supplements both tuition and endowment, providing necessary funds for all aspects of a Trinity-Pawling education.

Robert M. ‘Stretch’ Gardiner was a member of the Class of 1940 of the Pawling School and President of the Board of Trustees from 1991 to 2003. Stretch's legacy at Trinity-Pawling is profound. The Gardiner Library and Learning Commons and the Gardiner Theater stand as enduring testaments to his generosity and leadership. Those members of the Trinity-Pawling community who give $100,000 or more to the School are welcomed into the Gardiner Circle. Their generosity parallels that of our esteemed alumnus and benefactor, Stretch Gardiner ‘40.

Richard N. Colhoun P’70, P’72 offered Trinity-Pawling extraordinary leadership and dedication for nearly thirty years. As President of the Board of Trustees from 1978 to 1991, Dick oversaw the completion of the first capital campaign and helped launch the second. His creation of the School's first Board of Trustees was perhaps his greatest accomplishment, establishing a legacy of positive service that still stands today. Like Dick Colhoun, donors in this Society are philanthropic leaders and visionaries, impacting the community while simultaneously raising the bar for others.

Dr. Frederick L. Gamage, Sr. was the founder and first Headmaster of the Pawling School from 1907 to 1932, and Headmaster Emeritus and School Chaplain from 1932 to 1942. Frederick L. Gamage, Jr., was the second Headmaster of Trinity-Pawling from 1932 to 1935. Honoring Dr. Gamage’s mission, members of his namesake society are essential supporters of the School.

Frederic Duclos Barstow ’14 was a gifted student interested in nature. His parents funded the original science building in his memory because of his great love for the Pawling School. Donors who contribute $1,500 or more to the School in a single fiscal year are considered members of the Barstow Society. Year in and year out, we rely on these supporters to buoy us, and we thank them for their consistent support.
