Textbook Loan Program
For Residents of New York State

For residents of New York State, New York offers a Textbook Loan Program, which varies by school district. This program was designed by the New York State Education Department to assist non-public school parents in obtaining textbooks from their local school district.

Yes, all students need to complete their assigned summer reading. Please note that there are additional required readings for students enrolled in certain Advanced Placement (AP) classes, which are also outlined on the Summer Reading List link above.

Check-in on campus will occur in the morning of the arrival days detailed above. More specific information and a Pick-A-Time link to book your arrival time slot will be released later in the summer.

For your planning purposes:

• If you are traveling to New York by plane for Early Sports, please plan to fly in on September 1st — so you can arrive on campus on Saturday, September 2nd.

• If you are traveling to New York by plane for the Friday, September 8th arrival date, please plan to fly in on September 7th — so you can arrive on campus on September 8th. 
   

Typically, students who attend Early Sports and pre-season training have been or will be invited by their coach(es). If you have not received information about Early Sports but would like to attend, please reach out directly to Athletic Director Brian Foster ’79 at bfoster@trinitypawling.org or to the head coach of your fall sport program:

In addition to their preferred practice attire, football and soccer players need to have their own cleats. Cross country runners need to arrive with good running shoes. Uniforms will be provided by the School. Mountain bikers should have their own mountain bike and riding equipment.

If you are not sure what equipment you will need for your specific sport, please reach out directly to the head coach of your fall sport program.

Students in grades 7 or 8 generally compete on the Middle School teams, but can play up a level if their abilities allow. Any Middle School student who plays on a higher-level team must also play in any Middle School team games as long as the schedule does not conflict. This builds a greater sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship amongst grades 7 and 8.

At the start of the academic year, all medications, including vitamins and supplements, must be given directly to the Health and Wellness Center staff and are not to be kept by students. (Exceptions include students with asthma who may have their rescue inhaler with them or those with severe allergies requiring an EpiPen.) The nursing staff will arrange to dispense these medications to your son as ordered.

Please be sure to access and complete the Medication Authorization Form located in Magnus Health for any medications and/or supplements you would like your son to receive while on campus. Once signed by your healthcare provider (required), this form must be uploaded into the Magnus Health Portal in the Student Tracker. No medications and/or supplements can be administered without this documentation.
 

Physical exams are good for one calendar year. If your son’s physical exam expires during the new academic year, you may initially upload the previous year's exam and then update your Magnus Health Portal once the new exam has been completed. Please plan ahead! If your son’s exam will expire during the academic year, you can arrange for him to be seen by his healthcare provider during a school break.
 

Dorm assignments for the 2023-2024 school year were sent out via email to all students and parents on August 9, 2023.

Yes! Items can be shipped to campus (700 Route 22, Pawling, NY 12564) and will be available to students when they arrive. Please be sure to address the items clearly for your son to ensure they are delivered correctly.
 

Students may not have pets, knives, laser pointers, electric blankets, halogen lamps, sun lamps, refrigerators, hair dryers, cooking or heating appliances, air conditioners, water coolers, decorative or Christmas lights (LED lights are acceptable, but any damage caused by the adhesive will be billed at the end of the year), couches, futons, or monitors over 32”. At Trinity-Pawling, we pride ourselves on the way we dress. There are 4 dress codes on campus: School Dress (Blues and Grays), Class Dress, Informal Class Dress, and Neat and Casual. As you prepare for the 2023-2024 school year, be sure to review the guidelines for each dress code. Dress code posters are also hung around campus to provide guidance for students.

Parent permission, advisor approval, and Dean of Students’ approval are all required before any student may depart campus during the school year. Students and parents can request all campus leaves through Reach, a student management app utilized by Trinity-Pawling.

Yes! Trinity-Pawling offers shuttles to the Pawling and Poughkeepsie Train Stations and Westchester Airport (at no cost) for drop-off and pick-up on designated travel days. Drop-off or pick-up at NYC airports can be coordinated through Anna’s Limo Service and billed to the student's account.

While students use a mix of Windows and Apple devices, the majority are “Wintel” (Windows-Intel) laptops. Chromebooks tend to struggle and may not have required software available. Students using non-Apple products must have Windows Defender working on their PC computers. This program is already on all computers that have Windows 8 or 10. If you have purchased a different anti-virus, it must be valid until the end of the school year. The Technology team at Trinity-Pawling will help to make sure Windows Defender is working. (Mac laptops are not required to have anti-virus software installed at this time.)
 

Yes! Trinity-Pawling uses a central print server called UniFlow to access the printers in the Dann Building and Gardiner Library and Learning Commons. During orientation in the fall, new students will learn how to print on campus. There will also be a document available on the Student Portal with instructions on how to set up access to these printers.
 

For all students, both new and returning, Student Portal access is connected to your official Trinity-Pawling School email (Gmail) account.
