Mrs. Karen Kerins
Karen arrived at Trinity-Pawling School in 1998, following her husband Tom’s appointment to the English department. After spending her first year tutoring and working in the library, it was time to return to teaching, and the following year she was appointed to the English department. After six years of teaching seventh grade English in the middle school and sophomore English in the upper school, Karen began teaching full time in the Language Program in 2005. In 2012 she returned to the English department on a full time basis to teach sophomore and freshman level courses.
In addition to her academic contributions, Karen is actively involved with students outside of the classroom in her position as the Director of Student Activities. This encompasses planning events for the boys both on and off campus. Working in conjunction with other single-sex schools throughout the area, she helps coordinate the events that are held on a weekly basis. Whether it is a Saturday night dance or a Prep School Day at Six Flags, students are given the opportunity to socialize.
Karen enjoys a variety of outside interests, including reading, gardening, and travel. She resides in Arches 3 with her husband Tom and their golden retriever, Toby.
