Commemorative & Memorial Tree Program

Experiential Learning in Woods

Trinity-Pawling School is pleased to announce the Commemorative and Memorial Tree Program. This program has been established to provide the School’s alumni, parents and friends a way to honor a special person or event with the gift of a tree. Trees may be planted in memory of a loved one or to celebrate a birthday, graduation or other special occasion. The trees will both beautify the Trinity-Pawling campus and—with the active participation of its students—underscore the School’s dedication to environmental stewardship, and the benefits of experiential learning.

Trinity-Pawling’s Commemorative and Memorial Tree Program serves to fund additional specimen trees and shrubs for the campus arboretum. There are currently 241 trees growing on the Trinity-Pawling School campus representing over 30 varieties. The goal is to further enhance the collection of stately trees which already exist on campus.

We are committed to creating for our students an atmosphere of excitement, enthusiasm, and interest about the living environment. By gifting a tree to the Trinity-Pawling School Arboretum, you are contributing to our “outdoor classroom” in which we engage and challenge our students. Their lessons will be reinforced when they take an active part in the planting and caring for these trees and as they observe the natural seasonal rhythms which will deepen their understanding of our living landscape.

Our students will learn how trees reduce heating and cooling costs by as much as 30%. They will understand how trees play an important role in mitigating the effect of greenhouse gasses and how they trap carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and give us oxygen in return. They will witness how trees reduce surface water run-off, decreasing soil erosion and the accumulation of sediments in streams. By donating a tree through the Commemorative and Memorial Tree program, you not only help Trinity-Pawling reduce energy costs, you support us in our effort to reduce energy consumption, promote campus sustainability and involve our students in these important issues.

Your contribution will cover the cost of the tree, installation and its care.
Signage is also included with species specifics, as well as a plaque with the name of the person honored. Pricing begins at $2,500.

Not Just In the Classroom

What makes Trinity-Pawling unique? The Effort System is at the heart of everything we do.

The Pride

At Trinity-Pawling, every boy is a three-season athlete.  Whether he is learning the basics or has been excelling for years, he is part of the School's century-old athletic tradition.  T-P competes in the Founders' League, a highly competitive arena showcasing some of the nation's best prep school talent. T-P offers 13 interscholastic sports with 30 teams.

We're Seriously Creative

The Arts are an integral part of every Trinity-Pawling student's education. Whether they wish to develop existing talents or experiment with an entirely new form of expression, each student will have at least one year of music, theater, visual art or art history.

As a parent or guardian of a Trinity-Pawling student, you are a welcome member of the community. Your involvement through event attendance, participation in the Parents' Association, or simply staying connected is appreciated.

This could be you!

Over 100 years ago, Frederick Luther Gamage, Trinity-Pawling's Founding Headmaster, said, "Whether a boy succeeds or fails in the first instance at everything he tries is irrelevant.  The only boy who truly fails is the boy who fails to try."  Today, a century later, 315 boys live learn and grow together in an environment that fosters commitment, effort and character across the board.

Stay Connected!

Trinity-Pawling has a rich tradition of alumni connectivity. We want you to participate in the life and vitality of the School. Through this engagement, alumni will help Trinity-Pawling propel forward.
