Briener '11 and Budz '11 Go Head to Head
Chris Briener '11 of Troy, NY (right) and Andrew Budz '11 of Williamstown, MA (left) battled this weekend, in a key matchup of Nationally ranked teams. Briener, an attackman for the Le Moyne Dolphins has 5 goals, and 1 assist on the year. Le Moyne is ranked No. 2 in the country and wrapped up its 12th undefeated seaon, in the last 13 years. Budz is a Midfielder for the Saint Anselm Hawks, and has 4 goals and 1 assist this year. Heading into the contest St. Anselm was ranked No. 8 in the nation. Le Moyne downed the Hawks 9-2. Both teams open up play in the Northeast-10 Conference Tournament this week.

Paul Schacter '08 Leads Salve to a National Title
Paul Schacter '08 (New Fairfield, CT) is the captain of Salve Regina University's Rugby Team, and helped lead the Seahawks to a DIII National Championship in Colorado. Salve beat California Maritime 22-15 in the championship contest. This is the third time in the last four years that Salve has reached the final four championships. Last year they suffered a lost to Longwood University in a semi final matchup. In order to make it to the final four, Salve needed to win the New England Rugby Football Union Title. They did so in a decisive fashion, as well as claiming a win in the Region 1 Northeast Championship last November.
Derek Dennis '07 Gets NFL Shot
Derek Dennis '07 (Peekskill, NY) signs free agency deal with the Miami Dolphins. Although Derek did not hear his name called this weekend, he will still be given a chance to perform on the field for a professional team. Late Saturday evening, Derek inked a free agency contract with the Dophins. Miami was just one of several teams that contacted him during the final rounds of the draft. Dennis on choosing the Dolphins, "They [Dolphins] provided me with the best chance to not only make the roster but possibly find time on the field." Dennis '07 Hopes to Get Draft Call
Derek Dennis '07 (Peekskill, NY) spent the last four seasons being a star for the Temple Owls, in Philadelphia, PA. Dennis who spent a PG year at Trinity-Pawling, got a chance to participate in Temple's pro day last month and has also worked out individually for several NFL teams. He also participated in the East West Shrine Game, which showcases some of the most prominent college players in the country. The 6'3", 315 pound Dennis is ranked among the top 20 guards in the draft field. He has been working out at NorthStar Training Facility. As he gears up for the NFL draft, which begins Thursday (4/26), Derek hopes to hear his name called from the podium in NYC. To read the full article, click here.

Brad Mostowy Major Contributor for Hampden Sydney
Brad Mostowy '09 (Atlanta, GA) is a junior at Hampden Sydney College. The midfielder made an impact immediately stepping foot on campus. He has been nothing but steller in all aspects of his game. So far in 2012 campaign, he ranks among the best in the nation in a number of categories. He has scooped up 299 groundballs in his career, ranking him 6th in the country. He managed to grab 6.50 groundballs per game, listing him 7th in the country. And Brad's 446 Career Faceoff Wins, ranks him 9th in the country. The 5'10", 185 pound middie was 1st Team All New England at Trinity-Pawling.
George Buteau '11 Seals Win with Walk Off Hit
George Buteau '11 (South Burlington, VT) has a strong outing in conference play. Buteau plays third base for the Purple Knights of Saint Michael's College in the strong Northeast 10 conference. In their opening double header against conference foe College of Saint Rose, the Purple Knights managed to sweep the Golden Knights. In the opening game, the 6'2", 205 pound phenom registered 3 hits in the contest, including a walk off single at Doc Jacobs Field. Saint Michael's downed Saint Rose 5-4 in the opening game, and romped them 10-2 in the second contest.

Eric Williams '03 set for another pro season
Eric Williams '03 (Carmel, NY) was an athletic standout during his tenure at Trinity-Pawling. Whether it was on the soccer field, hockey rink or the baseball diamond, Eric showed great competiveness and leadership. Upon matriculation Eric, continued his baseball career heading to the top programs in the country. Eric attended Arizona State University, for two seasons, before transferring to Wake Forest University to finish out his career. After graduating with record numbers from Wake Forest, he continued his success in the minor leagues. He has seen action in the Continental League, American Association and spending the last season with the River City Rascals in the Frontier League. In the 2011 campaign, the 5'10" 170lb Outfielder played in 47 games. With a batting average of .289, scoring 35 runs, and registering 37 hits, allowed him to settle with a .466 on base percentage which was good enough to lead the entire league. The left handed phenom looks to continue his success for the Rascals in the 2012 campaign.

Kevin Kent '08 Completes Distinguished Squash Career
Kevin Kent '08 (New York, NY) finishes out strong career at Hobart College. A senior for the Statesmen Squash team, garnered honorable mention for the All Liberty League Team for the 2011-2012 season. The New York native recorded 14 wins this season. He registered a 14-15 overall record. Kent played as high as the No. 3 man on the team. Kevin went undefeated in all his matches during the CSA Team Championships. This was not the only year of success for Kent; as he earned a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic Team for the 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 seasons. In his freshman campaign he earned, Liberty League Rookie of the Week twice. The Statesmen finished with a 13-18 overall record, as well as capturing the Conroy Cup.

Mike MacDonald '11 Strong Start at Princeton
Mike MacDonald '11 (Georgetown, ON) has made a quick impact on the campus of Princeton. The 6'1'', 190 pound Attackman has been chosen as the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for March 19. He has helped the No.12 Tigers continue their success on the field. MacDonald's 3 goals and 2 assists helped Princeton conquer No.10 Villanova 14-8, and defeat Ivy foe Penn 11-4. The Ontario natives weekly stats are as follows: 2 GP, 3 G, 2 A, 5 Pts, 4 shots, .750% shooting. So far this season in the Orange and Black, Mike has 8 goals, and 3 assists. This is also his second time being Ivy Rookie of the Week, as he received this honor back on Feb. 27.
Sean Bertanza '09 - Passes 1,000 Point Mark
Sean Bertanza '09 from Seymour, CT is a junior for the Lasell College Lasers. In a recent game against Norwich University, Sean achieved a magnificent milestone. He became just the 11th player in the history of the men's basketball program to score 1,000 career points. The 6'2" guard needed just 9 points to reach the club, and he got there just a 1:05 into the second half. He was able to sink 8 pts in the first half, and unquestionably sank a 3 pointer to give him 1,002 for his career.
Sean leads the Lasers with 20.1 ppg and has managed to total 482 points in just 24 games this season. As a sophomore in 2010-2011, he scored 470 points for a 19.6 ppg average. Bertanza holds a Lasell single game record and an NCAA season high 55 points in overtime loss at St. Joseph's College. Thus far, Sean's stats at Lasell in just two seasons reads: career 44% shooter from the floor and 33% from three point territory, shooting 70% from the line and has averaged 19.8 points per game.
