The Trinity-Pawling Varsity Football team evened its record to 2-2, by beating Williston-
Northampton, on the road, by a final score of 48-19. The game was in fact close, during the first
half (half-time score was 21-13 in favor of The Pride), but T-P simply dominated the second
half, from start to finish.
Trinity-Pawling opened the scoring in the first quarter with a breakaway 57-yard T-D run by
Quarterback Re’mahn (Ray) Davis ’19. The PAT kick by Eddie Gonzalez ’19 was good, and the
score was 7-0 in favor of The Pride. Williston answered back, with a scoring drive of their own
(PAT was blocked). However, T-P’s own Ray Davis answered the answer on the very 1st play
from scrimmage with a nifty 49-yard scramble and run for The Pride’s second touchdown. After
another successful Gonzalez extra point kick, the score was 14-6, T-P.
During the second quarter, Williston cut the score to 14-13, but that was as close as the home
squad would get on this day. Set up by a 19-yard power run by Camrhan Tillman ’18, Ray Davis
again hit pay dirt with another TD run, this time 8 yards long, to make the score T-P 21,
Williston 13, after another successful PAT. T-P took that lead into the halftime break.
In the third quarter, Ray Davis showed off his passing skills, as well as his ability to run. Davis
connected with Split End Jack Gump ’18 on a 44-yard bomb, which set up T-P again in
Williston’s end. The T-P Quarterback finished the drive with another Touchdown run, this time
for 32 yards. The PAT kick was again good, and the score was 28-13 in favor of The Pride.
Trinity-Pawling was not through with their stellar second half play. The next T-P touchdown
was set up by two fine plays. The first was a neat interception by Defensive Back Chizurum
(Chiz) Umunakwe ’18. Ray Davis connected with Split End Philip Waugh ’19 on a 30-yard
strike, and T-P was set up again. This time, Chiz Umunakwe, from his Running Back position,
found the end zone, with a 21-yard run. The PAT was no good, and the score stood at 34-13,
Trinity-Pawling, and that is how the third quarter ended.
The final two T-P scores were on a 53-yard TD run by Freshman Marquese Ward-Mourning and
an interception and 28-yard return for TD by Jack Gump, this time from his Defensive Back
