Event Recap:

The Pride welcomed the Hocthkiss Bearcats to campus for a 2:30 tilt at Tirrell Rink. The Pride scored at 14:46, stunning the Bearcats, and took 1-0 lead. CK Giancoloa lit the lamp with a helper from Griffin Moore. The teams settled into a back and forth affair, as each team tested the goalies. Hotchkiss outshot the Pride in the frame 11-7, but the home team took the 1-0 lead to the locker room.

Amazingly the Pride opened the second stanza with a goal at 14:46 of the second frame - tying their remarkable start to the game with a marker from Griffin Moore. Nick Grande scored on a nice rush with a bar down job to make it 3-0 at 12:27. LJ Spencer scored just seventeen seconds later to give the Pride a 4-0 lead, as the Pride pressured Hotchkiss mercilessly. Keshaun Scott lit the lamp at 11:39 to continue the onslaught with a nice snipe from the top of the left circle. Sjohn Whitehead converted after two nice passes from Marc Welch and Ridge Driscoll on a perfectly executed power play goal to make it 6-0. Paddy Irwin stole the puck from a Bearcat defender and scored at 6:26 to give the Pride a commanding 7-0 lead. Hotchkiss answered with a shorthanded goal at 2:21 to cap the scoring in a raucous second period. Shots were 13-9 in favor of the Pride for a two period total of 20-20 for each squad.

The Third period saw the Hotchkiss goalie heat up, robbing at least four Pride players with terrific saves. Hotchkiss netted a nice power play goal with 5:20 remaining to cap the scoring and cut the lead to 7-2 Pride. The game ended with the Pride killing a 5-3 advantage. Alex Sywak was terrific in goal stopping 25 of 27 Bearcat shots.

The Pride have an open date this Wednesday and resume action next Saturday at Taft.
