Hockey - Varsity
We build on our reputation of playing with passion and good sportsmanship. Our coaching staff recognizes the importance of skill development and good hockey-habits. All hockey players are invited to engage in an inclusive program detailed by film, age-appropriate strength and conditioning, and on-ice training.
Our hockey traditions date back to the early 1940’s. David Tirrell was the founding coach of the hockey program. Bill Cooper took over the reins in 1961 and his successful career lasted 20 years, including a Housatonic Championship. You can find past and present players in the rosters and record books of almost every NCAA Hockey Conference.
Pride Hockey competes in the Founders League: Avon, Choate, Hotchkiss, Kent, Loomis, Taft and Westminster. The Pride also competes against fellow Housatonic League members Deerfield and Salisbury. Other rivals are Albany Academy, Brunswick, Canterbury, Gunnery, and Millbrook.
