Hockey - Varsity vs. Loomis Chaffee

Event Type: Regular
Advantage:Away

Date: December 2, 2017

Result:Win
Score:4-2

Event Recap:

The Pride opened season play against Founders League foe and New England perennial powerhouse, Loomis Chaffee.  Loomis tried to use the momentum from a 3-1 victory over Brunswick earlier in the week to shut down the Pride.  T-P was relentless in the defensive zone, stellar in net, and did a solid job on the penalty kill to earn a team win.  The Pride was able to defeat Loomis 4-2 in front of a full house.

Senior AJ Bella netted the first two for the Pride.  Freshman Cam Grillo and Jake Aloi earned a helper on Bella's goals.  John Garvey '19 got his first of the season midway through the 3rd as he hammered a one-timer past the Loomis keeper.  Jake Blackwell '18 made a beautiful pass to Garvey as they entered the zone.  Blanchard would earn his first career goal wearing the Blue and Gold as he found the back of the net with :35 seconds remaining.  Joey Musa '19 earned the assist on Blanchard's goal.

Evan Ruschil '19 stopped 32 of 34 shots, earning his first career win for the Pride.

The Pride will face Albany Academy on Wednesday, 4pm at Tirrell Rink.
