Squash - Varsity
Trinity-Pawling's Varsity Squash team has seen continued improvement since 2012, when Head Coach Will Dore took over the program. Coach Dore is a 2003 graduate of Franklin and Marshall College where he played for four years, the last two as captain of the team; he also received the team's sportsmanship award twice, and this is one cornerstone of the T-P program. His primary goal for Trinity-Pawling squash, though, is to compete at the highest level against schools such as Avon Old Farms, Berkshire, Choate, Hotchkiss, Kent, Taft, and Westminster while recruiting players who will add to the enriching academic and extracurricular communities at T-P.
During the 2016-2017 season, the T-P squash team was particularly successful due to a number of experienced players. With an 11-9 record, the team came up with key wins over Millbrook, Suffield, and Westminster, as well as wins against Canterbury, Salisbury, and Kent. At Nationals, the Pride competed in the fourth division - it's highest ranking in recent years - and finished as finalists after a tough 4-3 loss to Loomis-Chaffee School. Finally, the team finished 6th out of 16 teams in the B Division of the New England Interscholastic tournament - its highest finish in recent memory, as well.
Overall, the squash program is healthy, from the thirds to the varsity team. Graduates have gone on to play at some of the most competitive squash programs including: Dickinson, Hobart, George Washington, Trinity, Franklin & Marshall, and the Naval Academy.
